I’ve been thinking about the forthcoming local elections.
Worth applying for a postal vote if you can’t be bothered to walk to the polling station, don’t have photo ID or think it’ll be raining on the day.
I’m actually considering standing for election in this one rather than just voting in it, though. I think that if I was voted onto the council it’d be hard work, but by the same token, I could make a real difference.
Importantly, though, if I stand for election it’ll be impossible for me to buy a round down the boozer as the Electoral Commission would view that as bribery.
For around a month I’d be immune from any round-buying obligations…
