Don’t forget that if you want to vote these days, you need Photo ID. The obvious forms of Photo ID are a driving licence or a passport, but if you don’t have either of those other forms of Photo ID are also acceptable – you can find a list of the acceptable forms of Photo ID here.

If you don’t have any of the acceptable forms of Photo ID, you’ll have to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate. You can apply for one of those here. Note that you need to be registered to vote before you can apply for a Voter Authority Certificate and the deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate is 25th April if you’re planning to vote in this year’s council elections.
